Sweet wine is for women

Sweet wine is for women

It has been proven by scientists that there is no difference in taste buds between men and women. Therefore, there is no such concept as wine for ladies and gentlemen. It turns out that wine newbies usually go for sweet wines, and then move on to dry ones with a complex taste.

Probably the stereotype appeared because in the past girls used to consume less alcohol which explains their tastes "for beginners". Although in modern society, both genders have the same preferences.

Drinking wine doesn't make you fat

Beer bellies, according to modern science, are not that much of a beer. There is only 45 kcal per 100 ml of drink in the case of beer, and 65 and 70 kcal for white and red wines. Nutritionists, however, argue that wine calories are wrong to count in pure form, they are burned in combination with certain types of food. So we should follow a comprehensive approach to food and wine together.

Champagne with dessert only

The champagne we have today is completely different from what people used to drink 40 years ago, those sparkling wines were mostly sweet and semi-sweet.

Hence their traditional pairing with desserts. Now more than 80% of sales of sparkling wine are brut, that is, dry. Therefore, champagne, especially aged, can be considered as a versatile drink that goes well with almost any dish. Order a bottle of vintage Cava for lunch and you will discover a new gastronomic dimension.
