French and American celebrities at winemaking
The trend of celebrities owning wineries and vineyards is growing in France and the US. There’s a bunch of worthy examples. Pierre Richard has an estate in the Languedoc region, where 20 hectares of old vines give him the exclusive Château Bel Evêque.
In 2010 Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, were fascinated by Tuscany and its rural landscape. Since then the star couple has been running the Il Palagio vineyard south of Florence, where three noble drinks have been produced since 2010: Sister Moon, Casino delle Vie, When we dance.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie acquired land in Provence. One of their trendy wines, Pink Floyd rosé, is always snapped up in a matter of hours.
Perhaps the most famous star winemaker is the American filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola.
His farm in California's Napa Valley covers 630-hectares, including an old castle and a restaurant. The wine from his humble winery is named “Francis Coppola”.
